Sanko Steamship Co. Ltd of Tokyo, Japan (Sanko) is a 20% shareholder in MBC through a strategic financial investment aimed at showing its ongoing commitment to South Africa the development of the South African maritime industry.

Sanko is one of the world’s leading shipping companies specializing in the bulk shipping business and its investment in MBC gives the South African company access to its large shipping fleet. Sanko presently operates a fleet of more than 100 bulk carriers, tankers and LPG gas carriers.
